Randia longiloba Hemsley

Shrub or small tree; stems spiny, dimorphic (long shoots and short shoots), terminal branchlets often pendant; leaves often clustered on axillary short shoots, opposite, simple, elliptic, base acute to attenuate, margin entire, apex acuminate; flowers nearly sessile on the short shoots; corolla white, the tube 2 cm long, with 5 spreading lobes; fruit globose, like a small calabash, but with persistent calyx at the apex.
