Selenicereus grandiflorus ssp. donkelaarii (Salm-Dyck) Britt.

Ephiphytic, lianous cactus; stems succulent, with adventitious roots; ordinary leaves absent, replaced by clusters (areoles) of spines; flowers white, 18 cm long, opening at night, closing the following morning; fruit globose, succulent, edible.

Standley (1930) reports use as a heart stimulant.
