Woody liana; leaves opposite, simple or compound with 2 (or 3?) leaflets; leaflets puntate-pellucid when held to the light; inflorescence axillary, few-flowered; calyx pale green, collar-like, inflated; corolla tubular, with 5 small lobes, white; fruits elongate, slender, more or less round in cross section (terete); remnants of the placenta in the form of paired thread-like streamers commonly retained after the rest of the fruit has been shed.
