Shrub;
all parts with milky latex; leaves opposite, simple, elliptical,
base acute, margin entire, apex acute; inflorescences cymes from
the leaf axils; corolla with a long tube and five spatulate lobes;
anthers exserted from the throat; fruit a green follicle, bright
orange inside.
