Kinetic Theory of Gases

This module deals with the Kinetic Theory of Gases, and provides the theoretical background and derivation of the Maxwell-Boltzmann distribution of molecular speeds. The distributions, and fraction of molecules that are faster than a particular speed are provided as interactive graphs using Macromedia Shockwave for Director.

The Maxwell-Boltzmann Distribution is derived in two different ways and goes as far as dealing with integration of Gaussian functions, including mathematical dervations of the recurrence relationships, and treats the error function.
