Brief description: A spineless bush to 2.5 m tall; the branches are green and ridged. Leaves are ovate to ovate-lanceolate, simple, alternate, entire, pinnately veined, lightly pubescent to glabrous, margins serrate-toothed. Flowers are golden-yellow, double in the cultivar, terminating leafy shoots of the season. Fruits are a small and dry, inconspicuous achene. 

Campus data: Very rare on campus.  Cultivated in one spot, not encountered in the wild on campus.
