Common name: Sweet bells.

Brief description: A shrub to 4 m. Leaves are oblong or elliptic, simple, alternate, entire, pinnately veined, pubescent on veins beneath, margins serrate-toothed. Flowers are perfect, white or pinkish, in racemes. Fruits are a dehiscent capsule. 

Campus data: Occasionally on campus as wild undergrowth on the edges of Westhampton Forest, near Westhampton Lake.
