Common name: Privet (generic).

Brief description: A deciduous shrub to 4 m with pubescent branchlets. Leaves are elliptic to oblong, simple, opposite, entire, pubescent beneath on the midrib, margins entire. Flowers are perfect, white, very fragrant, in terminal panicles; the corolla is funnelform. Fruits are a drupe-like berry. 

Campus data: Occasionally in the wild on campus, and cultivated as trimmed shrubs as hedges at edges of roads.
