Brief description: A tall evergreen shrub to a small tree with glabrous branches and petioles. Leaves are obovate-lanceolate, simple, alternate, entire, pinnately veined, glabrous, margins serrulate. Flowers are perfect, white, on slender racemes forming a terminal drooping panicle. Fruits are a dehiscent capsule. 

Campus data: Very rare on campus. One cultivated individual encountered.
