Herb;
leaves opposite, simple, elliptic, base acute, margin toothed,
apex obtuse; flowers in axils of reduced leaves near the ends
of stems; calyx with prominent protuberance on the upper side;
corolla bilaterally symmetric, pale violet with white nectar guide
on lowermost lobe; fruit four nutlets enclosed within the persistent
calyx.
